We enjoyed a slower start to the day — a welcome change after all the travel and activity. Everyone slept in a little, pottered around doing some light chores (ok, that was mostly me…), and took their time getting organised.
Mid-morning, Mark, Sophia, and I headed out for a quick run to Best Buy, followed by a grocery stop to stock up for the day. Meanwhile, TJ & Greer stayed back and made the most of the downtime.
The rest of the day was very low-key. We lounged by the pool, caught up on some homework and work, and some even managed a nap. It felt like a proper reset — sunshine, peace, and no real rush to do anything.

In the evening, Mark fired up the BBQ and we had a delicious dinner of steak and salad. His perseverance with the gas firepit finally paid off, and the kids got to toast marshmallows and make s’mores. While the novelty was fun, the verdict was unanimous — Hershey’s chocolate just doesn’t stack up against good old Kiwi Whittaker’s or Cadbury.
