USA Trip – Day 25: Phoenix – New Home

The first order of business this morning was to secure a new place to stay. We’d done a bit of research the night before and knew there were some solid options, so we dove back into Airbnb and began the hunt. It didn’t take too long to find a place that ticked all the right boxes — and we knew we were onto a winner when the host messaged to confirm our booking and asked what kind of wine or beer we’d like as a welcome drink. A promising start!

With the new house locked in, we packed up everything (again), loaded the car, and made the most of the time before our 4pm check-in. First stop: the outlet mall. A bit of retail therapy never hurts. We browsed, we shopped, and the kids finally got their Blizzard from Dairy Queen that they’d been requesting all trip.

We headed back into Scottsdale where we had a quick and delicious lunch at Shake Shack — still a firm favourite with everyone.

From there it was on to Brandy Melville for the girls, and then a very slow and painful visit to Abercrombie & Fitch for TJ. Not because of him — although clothes shopping is still far from his idea of fun — but because the staff seemed to find managing the changing rooms a monumental task, and there was absolutely no sense of urgency to be found anywhere. Still, mission accomplished… eventually.

One final stop at the baseball shop for TJ, and then we made our way to the new house.

Thankfully, the new house was a complete upgrade — light, spacious, clean, and actually lived up to the photos. We wrapped up the day with a chilled evening, a well-earned glass of vino or two a sunset, and some online parent-teacher interviews for Miss S.
