After a very quick turnaround from Maadi Cup, everything has been unpacked, washed and repacked, hair cut, nails repainted and it was time to head to the airport for a smooth stress-free start to our 10am flight to Auckland. We made sure to leave plenty of time for the journey on a rainy Christchurch morning and big thanks to Mum & Dad for the drop off.

We savoured our breakfast in Koru before boarding our slightly delayed flight to Auckland, where the drizzle greeted us once again. For the record, the walk between domestic and international is still uncovered a lot of the way! Definitely not ideal for frizzy hair ?.

After clearing immigration, we returned to the Koru lounge for a relaxing lunch before boarding our flight to San Francisco. Upon arriving in San Francisco around 7am local time, we breezed through immigration and customs, thanks to Mark for arranging our expedited clearance ahead of time. Once our bags arrived, we dropped them off, picked up our new boarding passes, and went in search of something to eat.

We had an hour or two before boarding our flight to Chicago which then proceeded to sit on the tarmac for about an hour. Thankfully, the pilot made up some time, and we only arrived about 20 minutes behind schedule. The views of Chicago as we came in for landing were absolutely stunning!

Our Welcome Pickup was there waiting for us and we went straight to the apartment. Though there were quite a few stairs to haul our bags up, the apartment itself is fantastic—spacious and perfect for a big city!
After a very quick freshen up, we headed to the local Whole Foods Market (my home away from home) for dinner and a few necessities (aka chocolates of course!). Prices have definitely risen since the last time we were here but it’s not all bad … berries are still cheaper ??.
The girls wanted to check out the Ultra beauty on the way home, so we had a quick stop before heading back.
