This morning Mark headed to Auckland for a few work meetings but not before dropping me at the lake to watch the girls and the rest of the SMC crew in the repechages. It was very foggy so racing was delayed by 30-40 minutes. The girls in the novie 8 (Greer) had already rowed down to the start so had a long wait on the water before their race.
Soon enough, the race got underway and SMC fought it out with Christchurch Girls High School until the last hundred metres or so when SMC took it up a notch and won comfortably in 7:13:37 taking them through to the A Final on Saturday.

Around lunchtime it was Sophia’s turn in the u16 coxed four and they led right from the start winning in 8:03:52 and also through to the A Final on Saturday.
Not long after that, Greer had her final race of the day, the u15 coxed 8 and again they led from the start and won comfortably in 7:43:43 and also in the A Final on Saturday.

We couldn’t be more proud of both girls as they both reached A Finals for all of their races. Looking forward to some exciting racing on Friday!
