This morning we packed everything up and tidied the villa before handing over the keys to Melita and heading west to the Salento region on the Ionian Sea.
We had made a reservation at the Toga Bay Beach Club and had a big round lounge bed and 4 separate loungers. It was well looked after and definitely nice to have a little luxury at the beach. It was also reasonably priced compared to some of the places we looked at.
The sea was crystal clear and we spent the day swimming and sun bathing. The food, beverages and service were all excellent. I could highly recommend it if you ever want to come to this part of the world.

At about 5pm we packed up and headed south to Martano, where our next villa is and it was everything we were expecting and more. This villa is absolutely amazing and I’m not sure we’ll ever want to leave!
After being shown around by Angelo and Salvatore, we brought everything inside and then headed to a local supermarket. We picked up a few supplies but it didn’t have a very big range so we found another one just up the road which was much better.
Upon our return we managed to set the alarm off – it seems to be very temperamental ?. Eventually we managed to stop it and Salvatore came back to help us. Of course when we tried it again with him there it worked perfectly! He told us to stay calm and don’t panic ?. Hopefully when we come back tomorrow after our day out, we manage to do it successfully. ??
We got ourselves unpacked and had some dinner before heading to bed ready for whatever tomorrow may bring.
