Wedding Anniversary

12 March marked 18 years married for Mark & I. As it fell on a Sunday we decided to head out for dinner to celebrate on the Saturday night. It’s great the kids are now big enough to look after themselves so definitely saves some money not having to pay a babysitter.

We headed to Londo at Carlton Corner. It is definitely worth a try if you haven’t been. It is very small and not much room to even swing a cat but the two guys running it, Bob and Harry were very welcoming.

We sat at the bar and enjoyed a delicious cocktail whilst Bob (the chef) explained the menu, whilst also cooking, topping up wine glasses and numerous other tasks.

We chose what we wanted and before long our beef tartare was in front of us … Devine ?

Next up what was effectively a cheese scone – nice but maybe some butter might have been good.

For mains we shared the buffalo stracciatella and the chicken breast. The white wine sauce on the chicken breast was the best and we were even given some bread it soak it all up. So good! I forgot to take a photo of the chicken breast sorry.

Check out the size of these mushrooms!

Dessert was apricot and earl grey sorbet – not something I would usually choose but it was very good. And we accompanied it with a wee glass of sticky.

All in all it was a great night out, the food was divine, the wine delicious and the bill at the end of the evening surprisingly good.
