Day 33 – Birthday, Shopping, Cosmic Rewind and Dinner

Despite claiming an extra day being 49 due to the time differences there was no denying it this morning, my birthday was here! And a day of shopping was planned ? ??.

We hit the Orlando Vineyard Premium Outlets about 7 minutes after they opened at 10am and it wasn’t too busy which was good. First stop was Starbucks and then we shopped and shopped until the kids stomachs told them it was lunchtime. So to the food court it was, Shake Shack for them and Poke bowls for Mark & I. Then we shopped some more.

We shopped until we needed to leave to get to Epcot in time to get on Cosmic Rewind again. Despite me using my best efforts to avoid getting a “Happy Birthday” badge (“forgot” my ID, wore a top which a badge would ruin …) there was no getting out of it! Mark headed straight for Guest Services and proudly told them it was my birthday and I was 50 so could they please write that on the badge ?.

I tried to avoid wearing it but no such luck … fortunately the “50” wasn’t too big so most probably just thought it was my birthday. I had a few cast members say happy birthday and Mark insisted on my photo with the badge. Then it was time for Cosmic Rewind … it hasn’t lost it’s shine yet!

We made a quick stop at a CVS on the way home for Mark to grab some nose spray and then a quick change before our Uber arrived to take us to dinner.

Dinner was at Capa at the Four Seasons Hotel. Capa is on the 17th floor so it has great views and also holds one Michelin Star. We sat down, ordered and ate our olives and bread. Then how lucky was I, Mark had organized a fireworks display just for me!!!! ?. Ok it wasn’t really just for me, but the view from Capa enables you to take in the nightly fireworks display from Magic Kingdom so we went out to the balcony and watched them.

Dinner arrived and it was amazing. Sophia and I shared a steak and I’m pleased we did, otherwise I probably wouldn’t have had room for dessert. It was Lava cake for dessert for me, although I have to admit I’ve definitely had better lava cakes – a tad dry but nicely presented and even came with a candle. Mark opted for a flight of Cognac instead.

Home and a call into Mum and Dad at home, it was time for bed. I had a wonderful day ??
