Upon waking and having our showers this morning, I realised my bikinis were also in Mark’s bag so had nothing for the beach today. Mark tried to contact Cayman Airways about his bag but there was no luck. The view from their apartment is lovely – would not get sick of it every day.

We headed to an old favorite, Icoa, for brunch and no sooner than we had walked in the door and sat down, a good friend Laura came over and said hello. I’d almost forgotten how you can’t go anywhere without seeing someone you know. We had a quick catch up and arranged a time to meet up properly. We ordered and ate our food before heading into the surf shop in the complex and I got a bikini and Mark another pair of board shorts, as the first pair turned out to be a bit big.

We went for a wee drive to show the kids our old houses in Snug Harbour, but they refused to have their photo taken outside them, stopped at Fosters for some sunscreen and then headed to Governor’s Beach. It was still a bit cloudy when we got there but it didn’t take too long for the sun to break through.

We spent the afternoon lying in the sun and swimming. The kids love it and wanted to know why we ever left and if they could come back every year. The water was still a little cold for me (about 26°C) but once you were in it wasn’t too bad. The kids spent most of their time in the water and making sandcastles.

We headed back to the house about 4pm for a shower and to get ready for dinner. Mark could see his bag had moved (using our AirTags) so we knew it was almost in Cayman.
We headed out to Luca for dinner with our old friends, Ram & Alex and their three kids, Olivia, Zara and Lawrence. The food was great and the kids all ended up playing down on beach together. We then headed back to their house for some dessert, tea (for me as the designated driver) and whisky for Mark. It was really good catching up and reminiscing about old times. The kids played table tennis, PS5 and all got on really well.

We headed home for washing and bed. We still haven’t been contacted by Cayman Airways about the bag but we know it is on island so hopefully we can get it in the morning.
