Day 10 – Museums

We were given a reprieve from walking this morning and ordered an Uber to take us to the Holocaust Museum. It was freezing cold and Mark tried to get shelter in one of the nooks in the building but was quickly told off … I assume they’re worried about you leaving a bomb of something in there. The security check staff were also very rude – Mark thought maybe it was all part of the experience. ?

When you enter the museum you are given an identity card from an actual person with information about them. The Museum itself is very informative with a lot of reading to be done, pictures and videos. TJ, in particular, really enjoyed (if that is the right word) learning more about it all. We spent a good 2.5 hours in there. Unfortunately the staff, and particularly the security staff, were not compassionate at all. Poor Greer got a telling off for starting to walk the wrong way when we were leaving.

We walked to the West Wing Cafe for some lunch and then decided to head straight to the International Spy Museum to see if we could get in earlier than our booking was for. That was easy enough and so the kids signed up to be spies with tasks to complete around the museum. They enjoyed the interactive elements of it and there were also some really interesting exhibits for Mark & I as well.

We caught the metro to the centre of town for a hot drink and wander around to see the decorations and shops (all too high end for me though) before catching the metro home again.
