Leaving Texas I have a few observations…
1. It seems to be ok in Texas to text on your phone while driving so long as you put on your hazard lights (pretty confident it’s not actually legal – just common practice)
2. As TJ pointed out, the speed limit seemed to optional, both around town and on the freeways.
3. Texas was definitely greener than I thought it would be but still full of a lot of cowboys.
4. The Texans, esp the young and affluent, were definitively weight conscious and we saw very few larger people.
We were told by a National Park Ranger at the Washington Monument, who was from Dallas, that Dallas was the home of Botox and shopping malls!
