Today was a big day. We started with some art and culture at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (aka The Met). We went to the Greek and Roman Art, Egyptian Art, saw a mummy, the Temple of Dendur, Arms and Armour and then some paintings (Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso, Gauguin among others). Greer was particularly fascinated by the Van Gogh paintings as she had been studying “Starry Starry Night” at school and wanted her picture by every Van Gogh we could find!

We had worked up an appetite from that and headed to Serendipity3, a famous NYC restaurant. We shared one of their famous frozen hot chocolates. It was delicious although clearly did not agree with Miss G as she proceeded to vomit it all back up on her plate of half eaten nachos ?. I managed to get her to the bathroom to finish off (luckily we were seated very close by) and we finished up after getting a cafe cookbook signed by the owner.

Despite the kids being a bit over the shopping, Bloomingdales was calling so off we trotted (seemed rude not to go) and then while Mark got a haircut I took the kids to Dylan’s Candy Bar which was across the road (like they actually needed more candy ?).

That evening, after a bit of a rest and a bite to eat, we headed to see the Lion King at the Minskoff Theatre. The show was enjoyed by all. A late night walk through Times Square before heading to bed.
