This morning we got sorted and headed down to Battery Park in the Financial District. We found a street vendor and the kids had a pretzel each for breakfast. ?
After a bit more of a wander we caught the ferry to Liberty Island for our tour of Lady Liberty (aka The Statute of Liberty). We checked out the museum in the pedestal and then took the additional 162 steps (on top of the 215 steps already taken) to the crown for a view and photos. We wandered the grounds of the island before catching the ferry back to Manhattan.
Upon returning to Manhattan we went to the site of the World Trade Centre and took in the 9/11 Memorial Pools … an extremely moving place.
We then headed into the Oculus, the subway station and a Westfield Shopping Mall to find food and for a wee look around and a spot of shopping ?. We took a train ride to Brooklyn for a quick photo and then headed home for the evening.
